The final design for the tiles was completed with the help of math teachers. We used base 5 alignment on all the dots to prepare each child for base 10 standards. We also combined the words and numerals on the same side to allow for visual connection for the students. All of the lesson plans adhere to CCSS standards. When they are utilized in a classroom setting, the tiles reinforce instruction and free up the educator to perform other tasks. Their durability allows them to be utilized for many years, thus eliminating the need for new supplies each year.
